very welcome we have no old signs like that in this area i miss the southwest where I lived for so many years and the old Rt 66 area and the "Devils Highway" which used to be ( for 50+ years ) Rt 666 which ran north from the mexico border in the extreme eastern side of Arizona...but the Churches got that highway marker sign banned and it was called "The Devils Highway" great scenery in that area up along the Gila National Forest and into the Zuni Indian Nation

Its getting harder and harder to find old signs like this around my area. There is a lot of old signs like this one, but business owners will replace to middle of the sign with their new sign. You can tell my the shape that it used to be an old motel sign or whatever, but now it says like mikes automotive. People just dont realise what they have and someday soon its going to be too late and there wont be any signs like this left. That will be a very sad day...

It was originally name rt 666 because the number was the 6th spur along U.S. Route 66, its now U.S route 491. Some people think that the highway is cursed and as you can imagine the highway signs got stolen a lot when it was named rt 666 haha. I read somewhere that it was the most stolen sign in the state of Arizona.
